Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--2.7, 1.4; PstI--3.1, 0.8, 0.15; HindIII--4.1; BamHI--4.1; SalI--4.1. The insert contains the following restriction sites (nt from the 5' end): PstI--716, 875; MboI--1025. The insert is oriented in the vector so as to generate a fusion protein. Detects a genomic EcoRI fragment of 22 kb mapping to chromosome 3 and a genomic EcoRI fragment of 4.4 kb mapping to chromosome 18. The latter fragment is less intensely visualized in both EcoRI and KpnI digests. Detects a major 0.9 kb mRNA and a minor 4.2 kb mRNA in human liver, fibroblasts, and a variety of cell lines. Also detects a 0.9 kb mRNA in the K1 Chinese hamster ovary cell line. |
